Heroic Characteristics:
Divine/Pure of Mind

HCs in this category are related to spirituality. Many are holy blessings bestowed by supernatural beings while others are feats of mind over matter.

Blessed

Cost: 15 points per rank
Max Ranks: 10 ranks.
Pre-requisites: Faith Discipline: Rank 4 or complete a minor quest for a holy order.
Description:

The character has been blessed and can receive divine guidance. For each rank of this HC that the character possesses, the character gains one blessing point. Whenever the character fails a skill or attribute roll, he can use a blessing point to add +5 to the result. A character's blessing points refresh once per day.

This blessing will not work if the character is calling upon blessing to aid him in efforts that do not promote the faith or ensure the hero's safety. If the Hero behaves in a manner inconsistent with the divine teachings of his faith or the faith that bestowed this blessing, the effects of this HC are lost until the character atones. Using this ability for personal profit is considered a blasphemy.

Divine Aura

Cost: 30 points per rank
Max Ranks: 5 rank maximum
Pre-requisites: Faith Discipline: 4 or complete a minor quest for a holy order.
Description:

The character has such a pure spirit that undead, demons, and other supernatural entities are incapable approaching him. Any attacks and skills used by those creatures against the hero suffer a -5 AV penalty and the hero gains a +5 AV bonus to resist the effects of mind and spirit affecting spells.

If the hero behaves in a manner inconsistent with the divine teachings of his faith or the faith that bestowed this blessing, the effects of this HC are lost until the character atones.

Divine Health

Cost: 15 points per rank
Max Ranks: 4 ranks
Pre-requisites: Faith Discipline: 4 or complete a minor quest for a holy order.
Restrictions:

If the Hero behaves in a manner inconsistent with the divine teachings of his faith or the faith that bestowed this blessing, the effects of this HC are lost until the character atones.

Description:

The hero is pure of body, having been granted superior health for his devotion to the faith. Divine Health grants the character a +10 AV to resistance rolls against poisons and diseases per rank of the HC.

Divine Mind

Cost: 30 points per rank
Max Ranks: 4 ranks
Pre-requisites: Faith Discipline: 6 or complete a major quest for a holy order.

Description:

The character's faith is so strong that her mind can not be swayed by mortal or magical means. For each rank of divine mind, she gains a +10 bonus to resist the effects of mind affecting spells and mental attacks. A mental attack is any attack that affects the functioning of the character's mind, thought processes, self-control, and mental alertness.

Ethereal State

Cost: 120 points plus 40 points per additional shifting
Max Ranks: No limit
Pre-requisites: Purity of Body HC: rank 10
Description:The character is capable of assuming an Ethereal form. The character and all of her worn and carried equipment are capable of changing into an ethereal form once per day. While in ethereal form, the character can not affect the physical world except through the use of magical weapons, which cause half damage to physical creatures while the character and the weapon are immaterial. While ethereal, the character is immune to non-magical weapons, can see and move through non-metal objects at will, and gains complete immunity to poison and disease while ethereal. Spells cast while in ethereal form can only affect other ethereal or incorporeal creatures.

Laying of Hands

Cost: 5 points per rank
Max Ranks: no limit
Pre-requisites: Faith Discipline: rank 4
Description:

The character is so strong of faith that she can heal people with her touch. The character can heal wounds as described in the Annoint the Wounded spell description. For each rank of this HC, the character can heal 1 EPOT worth of wounds each day. The character can use all of these EPOT at once or just a little at a time.

Purity of Body

Cost: 10 points per rank
Max Ranks: 10 ranks
Pre-requisites: Meditation: rank 12
Description:The character has achieved such strength of mind, that his body is now more resilient to poisons and disease. This HC grants a +5 AV bonus to any CON checks to resist poisons and natural diseases.

Remove Disease

Cost: 15 per rank
Max Ranks: 10 ranks
Pre-requisites: Laying of Hands HC: rank 6

Description:

In addition to being able to heal people by the laying of hands, the character is also capable of removing disease and sickness from this ill. The character can remove 2 points of potency from a single disease once per day or cure 2 points of non-permanent attribute damage caused by a disease or poison. Remove disease can only be performed once on a particular patient each month. This is a draining ability which requires the expenditure of 5 stamina to perform this action, regardless of the amount being healed.

Smite

Cost: 15 points per rank
Max Ranks: 5 ranks
Pre-requisites: Faith Discipline: 8

Description:

Once per day, the character can call upon her faith to smite one non-believer. For each level of the HC, the target will take 1d6 points of armor bypassing MW damage. The target must be within 30 yards of the character. The attack damage is staged by the Spirit scores of the believer and the target. The character can choose to cause less severe or smaller amounts of damage if she desires. This ability requires only that the character be able to speak aloud and decry the target for his crimes against the believer's faith.

Smite will not work on anyone who shares the same faith or is a member of a faith system that is not at conflict with the character's faith. The only exception is if the character is subject to an unprovoked attack by someone that she would normally not be able to use the ability on.
