Crafting: Weaponsmith

A weaponsmith forges weapons. Since there are such a large variety of weapons that can be manufactured, it is impossible to list them all. Weapons are instead categorized into generic groups. While the groups are fairly self-explanatory, the blades and axes groups deserve some clarification.

  • Small blades and axes: daggers, kama, knives, throwing knives, hand-axe, etc.
  • Medium blades and axes: Most swords fall into this category, including short swords, long swords, bastard swords, katana, etc. Battle axes fall into this category.
  • Large blades and axes: great swords, falchions, claymores, nadochi, great axe, etc.

Weapon enhancements may have a limit to the number of times they may be added to a weapon. Below are the extended descriptions of the various weapon enhancements. All enhancements must be made at the time the weapon is constructed. It is impossible to add additional stat enhancements to melee weapon once it has been constructed.

  • Balanced melee or thrown weapon: -5 weapon difficulty to hit.
  • Extra damage +1: Barbs, extra keen edges, serrated edges, and vicious spikes can all raise the damage of weapon.
  • Extra staging: By making a weapon heavier, it can hit harder and sink deeper. Unfortunately the extra weight makes the weapon more difficult to wield, resulting in a higher weapon difficulty.
